Make sure the metal is free of grease or rust preventatives. Brush the loose rust off your part and immerse it in the solution of VpCI®-422. Check rust removal progress periodically. When the degree of rust removal is satisfactory, rinse the part in water, then in a solution of VpCI®-414 to neutralize the part and prevent flash rust. In this demo, VpCI®-422 was used at a 20% concentration (diluted 1:4 with water), and VpCI®-414 was used at a 5% concentration (diluted 1:19 with water).
